Financial Planning
Planning
We manage our clients’ finances, so they don’t have to worry. Our planning process coordinates the accumulation, distribution, and transfer of wealth. We help you navigate both the technical and emotional facets of investing. Planning includes things like investment education, Social Security decisions, retirement income planning, college savings, and spending strategy optimization. Planning is ongoing, it never stops.
Coaching
We use behavioral coaching to help clients avoid common mistakes made by the average investor. Investing evokes emotion, which can wreak havoc on a financial plan. Thus we use discipline, guidance, and a long term perspective to keep on track. Some of the most significant financial derailers are behavioral—the allure of market timing and the temptation to chase performance.
Investment Management
We use an evidence-based, institutional approach that focuses on risk management through intelligent diversification. Many investors think they are diversified when in fact they are not. Most people have more risk in their portfolio than they realize. A truly diversified portfolio consists of multiple asset classes with varying correlations. Managing risk is the single most important aspect of our process. We strive for consistent, risk-managed returns year after year.
- Portfolio decisions are made by our investment committee.
- We use disciplined asset allocation with cost-effective implementation to get the most efficient results. We rebalance to maintain targeted risk and return profiles.
- For our clients in retirement we use a total-return approach to add value versus the commonly used “income-only” approach.
- For taxable accounts we implement tax-sensitive strategies in order to reduce tax drag. Less tax equals more money in your pocket.
Few people have all three—we do.
